Worship 10 am  1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays, 9 am 2nd Sunday

St. Paul's has been a fixture in Harlan for well over 100 years.  At Saint Paul's Episcopal Church, worship and our common life are at the heart of the Gospel.  Salvation comes not through a set of beliefs but rather how we live our lives and model them after the teachings of Jesus.  God is love and anything we do should be done in love for one another and for all that surrounds us.  While we worship in a building, we believe God does not live in a building and is all around us in each other, in the world, and how we walk in the world. Ministry is how we serve the community and one another  We welcome all who are curious, searching, don't feel comfortable in other places of worship.  It is a place for all sinners and saints, an inclusive community.

HOT OFF THE PRESS

Clergy

St. Paul's is part of the Episcopal Diocese of Iowa.  In December 2021 a new bishop was consecrate: the Rt. Rev. Betsey Monnot.

St. Paul's is currently served by the Rev. Diana Wright, who was called to the ministry from a career in medicine and remains committed to serving God in both capacities.  She is present at St. Paul's on the second and fourth Sundays of the month.

Taize service

St. Paul's held a Taize service the first Sunday of each month at 7 pm.  This is a service shaped by music and prayer and time for quiet reflection.  There is no sermon; it is a time to center and renew oneself and one's faith. The service is currently on hold due to Covid but we plan to resume in the near future.
